I have really been working the last year on my little business. Last year we doubled sales over the previous year and this year looks to do the same.
2020 has brought changes to our life. Both kids are out doing their thing one in Moscow, ID and the other in Salt Lake City. I changed my employment status from Assistant Chief Pilot to Pilot. I have stepped back into the pilot pool and left the admin portion of the job in the capable hands of another. This has allowed me to spend more time working on my business and spending more time at the shop.
I started Hells Canyon Art Glass in 2016 to revive an old business I had when we lived in Maui. I did sandblasted glass for hotels, artists and others eventually moving into woodworking and furniture making.
In 2018 I became interested in Laser engraving and bought a Universal Laser Engraver and started learning that process while continuing to do my glass art. The name evolved to Hells Canyon Art Glass and Laser which is a mouthful I don't care how you slice it. We started making Leather mixed media pieces and eventually purchased the equipment to make Leather Patch Hats. With this broad and diverse line up of products and capabilities, I decided to change the name to make it simpler and to the point.
So effective March 10, 2020, we are now Hells Canyon Designs. I modified the old logo a bit and began the process of changing website domains, registering with the state and all the fun little things there are to do.
In 2020 who knows what the future holds. As I write this there is uncertainty in the air, but we are going to start offering stitched on patches, and maybe UV printing if that makes sense.
You will be seeing more of my mug in the content I am producing for the website and we will continue to grow our presence on social media.
